On June 29, 2009 I reported in at the Coast Guard Academy for the class of 2013. I spent seven weeks going through Swab Summer, an indoctrination program for officers-in-training. It was the most mentally, physically, and spiritually challenging experience I have gone through, and at the same time, it was amazing. I started up school in late August, but was unfortunately medically disenrolled and left on October 29, 2009.

I'm spending a little bit of time at home, and then I'm heading off to Sweden in December to visit my brother, who is studying there for a semester. I re-applied as a transfer student to both Grove City College and Wheaton College (Illinois), two schools which had previously accepted me, prior to my departing for the Coast Guard Academy. If all goes to plan, I'll return to USA in early January and then head out to Wheaton College to start up the spring semester, and hopefully join the class of 2013. Unfortunately, since I couldn't finish my semester at the Coast Guard Academy, none of my 21 credits are going to transfer, so I'm starting from scratch.

Now that I'm home, I'm hoping to build my portfolio, using my Nikon D5000, which I got as a graduation present (with a little help of my own money.) You can check out my portfolio at [link]
